Lifeguard and Swim Instructor Job Opportunities

To keep our Pool open throughout the year, Lillooet needs dedicated long-term lifeguards who are staying in Lillooet to live and work. ANY AGE GROUP WELCOME. These jobs are part of the emergency services and safety industries and can provide an exciting and fulfilling career.     Certificate 1: Bronze Medallion

    Gain an understanding of lifesaving principles, learn basic CPR, first aid, and water rescues and searches, and hazard awareness; develop stroke efficiency and endurance;

    20 Hours Dry and Wet Sessions Swim 500m in 15min

    Certificate 2: Bronze Cross

    Learn advanced and complex water rescues and safety supervision skills; gain proficiency at performing patient assessments and managing spinal injuries; increase endurance.

    20 Hours Dry and Wet Sessions Swim 600m in 18min

    Certificate 3: Standard First Aid

    Comprehensive first aid course equivalent to Occupational Level 1. Learn how to assess and treat airway, breathing and circulatory emergencies and management of medical, musculoskeletal and environmental emergencies; CPR; AED

    16 Hours Dry Session

    Certificate 4: National Lifeguard (NL) - Pool

    A Lifesaving Society NL certification is required to become a lifeguard. Prepares lifeguards to prevent incidents and to take effective control during any emergency

    44 Hours Dry and Wet Sessions Swim 400m in 10min

    Certificate 5: Water Safety Instructor (optional)

    Also become a Red Cross Swim Instructor. Prepare to teach learnto-swim programs by focusing on strategies to introduce and develop swimming and water safety skills.
